According to reports on Thursday, an enraged Ronaldo threatened to leave his country after being demoted from the starting lineup, but was eventually talked out of making such a rash choice. The Portuguese Football Association has denied the claim.

Ramos’ hat-trick has rightfully called into question the veteran’s place in the starting lineup for the rest of the tournament. After polling the nation’s fans, Portuguese publication A Bola discovered that an astounding 93.6% of supporters want Ramos to lead the line against Morocco.The survey, which just asked for a yes or no response, does not bode well for the former Manchester United star.
According to Marca, Ronaldo refused to practise with Portugal’s replacements on Wednesday, instead opting to join the starters for a gym session. Portugal would face either France or England in the last four if they defeat Morocco in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
