Morne Morkel links up with Bumrah and co ahead of IND vs BAN series
Morkel is a familiar face to work with for head coach Gambhir, having worked together with him previously for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL. The series will mark the first time the former South African will work in close quarters with India’s bowling department spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah.
While Morkel was previosuly associated with the Pakistan cricket team for the ODI World Cup in 2023, he ended his stint prematurely ahead of the T20 World Cup in June. He replaced Paras Mhambrey as the bowling coach after Rahul Dravid’s stint as head coach came to an end and was succeeded by Gambhir. The series will mark the beginning of a new era for India, who will be playing under a new set of coaches and support staff.
