After Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team, speculation arose regarding his choices for the coaching staff, particularly the assistant coach. However, it now appears that both parties have agreed on Morne Morkel as the bowling coach, and he is likely to be appointed for the role. Morne Morkel coach of which team
The former Proteas pacer served as the bowling coach for the Pakistan cricket team. He joined the team in July but resigned after their disappointing performance in the ODI World Cup in November.
Gambhir and Morkel previously worked together with the Lucknow Super Giants in 2022 and 2023. Morkel was the bowling coach under the mentorship of the former Indian batter.
