‘More options needed’ Yuvraj Singh has his say on Team India’s captain for T20 World Cup

T20 World Cup: Yuvraj Singh signals the need to have more options for captain's spot in T20 World Cup

Former star India Cricket Team all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has claimed that Hardik Pandya is a very important player for Team India. However, if he is not ready for captaincy, then India has a lot of options available. Pandya has gone on to claim that Suryakuamar Yadav and Shubman Gill are also good potential options.

Hardik Pandya has been injured for quite sometime. The star Indian all-rounder picked up an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup. Since that injury, Pandya hasn’t played cricket for India. With T20 World Cup just 5 months away, Yuvraj Singh makes his pick as to who will be the suitable captain.

“Hardik is a very important member of the team and India need him. He is injury prone and we need to give him time to recuperate and settle down. We have to get the best out of him. As for captaincy, we need to have more options. There is Suryakumar Yadav, who has been captaining India in T20Is. There is Shubman Gill, who will be captain in IPL,” said Yuvraj Singh.

SKY is also currently injured and as per reports is expected to miss the opening phase of IPL 2024. Apart from recovering from his ankle injury he also has a sports hernia. On the other hand, Shubman Gill is facing a tough competition from Yashasvi Jaiswal for the opening spot in India’s T20 squad.
