Pacer Mohammed Siraj found himself a new home after being picked up for Rs 11 crore at Ravichandran Ashwin's IPL mock auction

Former RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj is looking for a new home after being released by the team ahead of IPL auction. The Hyderabad bowler found himself being picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 11 crore in Ravichandran Ashwin’s mock IPL auction. RR have retained Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Sandeep Sharma, Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal. This means, they will enter the auction with no RTMs left and with a purse of just Rs 41 crore.

Siraj finds new home in RR at Ashwin’s mock IPL action

Mohammed Siraj was picked up for a huge sum of Rs 11 cr at Ashwin’s IPL mock auction. However, it is very unlikely that RR would be willing to pay such a huge amount for the out-of-form pacer. Siraj had been associated with RCB for a considerable amount of time, having moved to the trophy-less franchise from SRH.

Other big buys by RR in the mock auction include Australian spinner Adam Zampa for Rs 5.5 crore, ex-MI player Tim David for Rs 4.5 crore, Prasidh Krishna at Rs 3.5 crore, England’s Harry Brook at Rs 5 crore.

IPL veteran Piyush Chawla was picked for Rs 1 crore as a back-up option by RR in the mock auction. Assuming that RR picked Chawla as a replacement for Ashwin, the franchise seems to have made the right choice. New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson is also on the list, having been picked up for Rs 3.5 crore. M Siddharth, Mayank Markande, Nuwan Thushara are some of the other players picked as back-ups by RR in the mock auction.
