After arriving in Kolkata on January 18 at midnight, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya were seen with the Indian team as the Men in Blue marched forward for the first training session ahead of the T20I series. The current T20 World Cup champions are set to host England for a five-match T20I series followed by a three-game ODI rubber that will act as a preparation to the ICC ODI Champions Trophy.

Team India, who recently got thrashed in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 3-1 will try to get back to winning ways against England. To begin their prep, the Indian team entered the Eden Gardens, the venue for the 1st T20I today (Jan 19). Gautam Gambhir and his coaching staff, which has been under tremendous pressure, were the first to step out of the team bus and enter the stadium for training sessions. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami, who is making his international return after more than a year, also joined the group alongside Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson for IND vs ENG T20Is.
England makes way from Dubai
Not just the Indian team, but the touring party, England, also arrived yesterday in Kolkata. Barring Liam Livingstone, who joined the side from South Africa, where he was playing for the Pretoria Capitals in the SA20, Jos Buttler led the team from Dubai, where they were training for the India vs. England series and the ICC Champions Trophy.
First training session under Sitanshu Kotak
Both teams will start training today (January 19) for the series, which kicks off on January 22. Team India will also hold their first session under new batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, who has been added to the mix after batting failures over the last couple of series. He was seen having a long conversation with Gautam Gambhir, who knows a thing or two about Eden Gardens!
