Mohammed Shami appears to be experiencing the same nerves as the fans during the India vs. Pakistan match. The right-arm pacer couldn’t have had a worse start. Shami bowled five wides in the first over of the high-octane ICC Champions Trophy match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Shami’s horror start in the India vs Pakistan match
Shami started on point but couldn’t control his line. He bowled down the leg to Imam-ul-Haq twice and then outside the off thrice as well. He looked off rhythm, reminding many fans of that infamous Zaheer Khan over to Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist in the 2003 ODI World Cup Final.
Shami equalled Zaheer and Irfan Pathan’s records for most balls bowled in an over in ODIs. It was also just the fifth time that someone gave five or more extras in an over in the ICC Champions Trophy.
