Israel has fierce reply to Mohammad Rizwan as he goes ‘Gaza’ over Palestine

In response to Pakistan player Mohammad Rizwan showing solidarity with the people of Gaza, Israel came up with a fiery tweet.

With the ongoing conflict between Israel-Hamas, no side is leaving any stone unturned to garner support in their favour. Visibly, the world is also divided in their support; while one section visibly sympathises with the Palestinians, the others speak for the Israelis. The World Cup 2023 in India isn’t untouched by this.

Just a few days back, Pakistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan had dedicated their team’s win against Sri Lanka, where they had made the highest chase in a World Cup match ever, to ‘brother and sisters in Gaza’.

But following their shameful defeat against India on Saturday, Israel hit back, albeit on Twitter. The official handle of Israel wrote, “We were really moved by Indian friends showing their solidarity with Israel. We are happy that India emerged victorious in the #INDvsPAK match at #CWC23 and that Pakistan was unable to attribute its victory to the terrorists of #Hamas.

The Israel-Hamas conflict had started earlier this month.

It is noteworthy that Mohammad Rizwan has been facing a lot of backlash during the World Cup 2023. During the India vs Pakistan match, he offered namaz, while he was batting. The Indian crowd too got into action, and chanted ‘Jai Shree Ram’, while he was going back to the pavilion after getting out.

In the Ind vs Pak encounter on Saturday at Ahmedabad, the hosts were a far superior team. Led by Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, India restricted Pakistan to a paltry 191 runs. IN reply, Rohit Sharma scored a brisk 86 as India achieved the target in only 35 overs. Shreyas Iyer too scored a fifty in a winning cause, as India went top of the points table.
