Mohammad Amir assures Rohit Sharma & Co. “ko Pakistan mein maza ata” for Champions Trophy

India haven't travelled to Pakistan since the Asia Cup 2008.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are at odds. The two cricket powerhouses have decided that neither the India nor the Pakistan cricket team will visit each other until 2029 at least. It all started after the BCCI, following advice from the Indian government, decided that they wouldn’t send their players to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Wanted Indian team to come to Pakistan, says Amir

Team India’s matches were shifted to Dubai, and the two boards entered a non-travelling agreement. Many, like former Pakistan fast bowler, wish that Rohit Sharma and co. came to their nation for the Champions Trophy 2025.

“I really wanted the Indian team to come to Pakistan. As a player, I want Pakistan to go to India and India to come to Pakistan. There are no boundaries in cricket; those who set boundaries, I’ve always been against that. I was hopeful that India would come, and Indian team Pakistan aati toh unko maza ata (India would enjoy it too). “ Amir told the Times of India.

Hope BCCI-PCB issue gets resolved soon: Amir

For the unaware, none of the current generation of Indian cricketers like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have played in Pakistan. The recently retired pacer assured that had Team India come, they would have received an amazing reception and would have enjoyed their time. Amir understands that the players have no say in such matters and hopes the relationship between the two nations improves.

“The players would have enjoyed it a lot, but at the end of the day, players don’t have control over these things. But now, you see, even Pakistanis are not going to India; this has been decided, which, in my opinion, is not a good thing. I hope in the future, there will be a resolution to end these issues,” he added.
