‘Modern master’ Jasprit Bumrah picked by Chopra as standout performer in 2nd Test

Aakash Chopra labeled Jasprit Bumrah as a player who's skills are on a different level after his IND vs ENG 2nd Test heroics

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra hailed pacer Jasprit Bumrah as a player who’s skills are on a different level after his heroics in IND vs ENG 2nd Test. Finishing the game with 9 wickets in total, the left-armed pacer registered his best Test figures at home.

IND vs ENG: Bumrah is Chopra’s pick for best in 2nd Test

In a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra hailed Bumrah as a modern master who excelled in a flat pitch that offered no solace to pacers. He adds that the pacer is the only player in the ‘splendid’ category.

“We were saying these pitches are extremely flat and that there is no help for fast bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah said hold my juice. You are watching a modern master. This player’s skills are of a different level,” Chopra said.

The ex-India opener labeled Bumrah as a once-in-a-generation bowler, adding that India turned to him whenever they needed a wicket.

I have kept only one guy in the splendid category. To be fair, there were other contenders but he also got the Player of the Match. He started in Hyderabad, two wickets in the first innings, four in the second innings, six in the third innings, and then again three wickets. Nine wickets in a Test match on a flat pitch,” Chopra added.
