It seemed that in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction War Room, the prices were too high. Eoin Morgan, Suresh Raina, Aakash Chopra, and Mike Hesson were some of the experts on the show organised to simulate what would happen at the IPL 2025 mega auction. They decided to pay Rishabh Pant a whooping Rs 33 crore and Shreyas Iyer Rs 21 crore.
Pant, Shreyas & Venkatesh go big at IPL 2025 auction
They went overboard, one would think. But, no. They weren’t far off for most top Indian players. Pant and KL Rahul didn’t go for as much, especially Rahul, who surprisingly got just Rs 14 crore from the Delhi Capitals. He was expected to easily cross the 20-crore mark. But, unlike Pant and Shreyas, that didn’t happen for the former Lucknow Super Giants captain.
The winners from the mock auction were Shreyas, who got Rs 5.75 crore more, and Arshdeep Singh, who wasn’t retained by the Punjab Kings, went back to them at the same price of Rs 18 crore, which was the top retention price. But the main one who’d be most happy would be Venkatesh Iyer, who won as Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders started a bidding war, and Venky was sold for Rs 23.75 crore.
