Mithali Raj parts ways with Gujarat Giants ahead of WPL auction, know the replacement

Gujarat Giants, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) team, is seeing some big changes. Mithali Raj, who was their mentor, has left the team. She was with them for the first two seasons. Now, she’s taken up a new job with the Andhra Cricket Association. There, she’ll help with cricket development and work with the senior team.

Another change is that Nooshin Al Khadeer, who was the assistant coach, is also leaving. She’s now busy coaching the India Under-19 women’s team. They’re getting ready for the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia next year.

New coaches join the team

Michael Klinger will stay on as the head coach. But there are two new faces in the coaching team. Daniel Marsh is the new batting coach, and Pravin Tambe will coach bowling. Both of them have good experience in cricket. Klinger is excited about the new season. He says they’ve kept some good players and want to do better this time. He’s happy that many of their players are now playing for India. This experience will help the team, he thinks.

Gujarat Giants’ plans for WPL auction

The team didn’t do well in the last two seasons. They finished last both times. Now, they have the most money to spend in the upcoming auction. They’ve let go of six players, including their former captain Sneh Rana. It looks like they’re planning to make some big changes to improve their performance.

Gujarat entering WPL auction with 4.4 crores

GG, owned by Adani Sportsline, ended up at the bottom in the first two WPL seasons. Now, they head into Saturday’s auction with the largest budget of INR 4.4 crore and are expected to be very active. The team has let go of six players, including Sneh Rana, who led them in the first season. Along with Rana, GG has also parted ways with Lea Tahuhu, Veda Krishnamurthy, and a few others.
