Missed Call! PBKS opt against taking DRS, replay shows Travis Head was out

Punjab Kings hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 23 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

The 23rd IPL match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) started off in a dramatic manner, involving premier PBKS bowler Kagiso Rabada and dangerous SRH opener Travis Head.

After opting to bowl first, Rabada produced a superb length delivery that got the outside edge of Travis Head’s willow. The bowler along with his teammates erupted in a loud appeal, convinced they had their man. However, umpire Navdeep Singh remained unimpressed.

Interestingly, despite the on-field appeals, Shikhar Dhawan, PBKS skipper, opted not to challenge the umpire’s decision. This decision seemed even more baffling when the replays on the big screen, a few balls later, confirmed a clear edge off Head’s bat. When the ball past the Australian’s willow, the ‘Snickometer’ showed vibrations.
