IND vs ENG: Mind Games at pay before IND vs ENG Test series, Michael Vaughan warns India about spin friendly pitches

Days ahead of the IND vs ENG Test series, former England Cricket Team skipper and legend Michael Vaughan has begun his mind games. Vaughan has claimed that it would be foolish for India to prepare spin tracks. The former Three Lions skipper has claimed it will be a big mistake for India if the pitches become too much spin friendly.

England plays an aggressive style of batting commonly known as Bazball. In this style, the batters bat aggressively and pile up huge runs within a small space of time. Vaughan went on to claim that England would go and score tuns quickly in spin pitches.

For India, I think it would be a big mistake if the pitches spin hugely from ball one of the series. England are going to look to score quickly and will, even if their innings do not last long,” Michael Vaughan wrote in The Telegraph.

Vaughan went on to compare the spinning dept of both the teams. He said that Ravindra Jadeja is obviously a better spinner than Jack Leech. But, if England bats first in a tuning pitch, Leech will cause huge problem to India.

The former England skipper went on to claim that India will be vulnerable in hugely spinning tracks. In such conditions England can quickly bowl India out. However, if the pitches are flat then India will have a benefit. In such conditions India will amass huge runs and have strong line-up for against the visitors.

But spinning pitches bring Jack Leach and the young spinners England have selected into the game. Is Leach a better spinner than Jadeja? No. But if you give him a turning pitch, and England bat first, he will be right in the game. Equally, when the ball spins big, I think India’s batting can be vulnerable, and England will bowl them out. If the pitches are flatter, India will score thousands, and also have the bowlers to work England out,” Vaughan concluded.
