Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan calls spinner Shoaib Bashir the new Ravichandran Ashwin. The young spinner made his debut in the ongoing IND vs ENG series and has already grabbed eyeballs. Vaughan lavishes praise on the Bashir.
‘New superstar Shoaib Bashir’
“It’s been a fantastic week for English cricket. One of the great weeks, celebrating another world-class superstar that we’ve unearthed, Shoaib Bashir. That’s what we’re celebrating. Second Test match, eight wickets, he’s the new Ravi Ashwin, and we’ve unearthed him. So, we’re celebrating a new superstar in English cricket,” Vaughan said on Club Prairie Fire’s YouTube channel.

Bashir dismantled the Indian batting in Ranchi, dismissing the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja, all centurions in the series. He had previously claimed his maiden Test wicket in Vizag, dismissing Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, during his England debut.
