SRH beat MI Highlights: Chasing a huge target of 194, Mumbai Indians were off to a brilliant start. Rohit Sharma finally clicked, stitching together a 95-run opening stand with Ishan Kishan.
While Rohit Sharma missed out on a well-deserved half-century, falling short by just two runs, Ishan Kishan too missed the bus as MI lost quick wickets in the middle-overs.
Tilak Varma, Mumbai Indians’ highest-scorer this season, too did not last long with Umran Malik breathing fire. His 3/23 made the difference in the middle-overs as Mumbai lost quick wickets.

But then entered Tim David and the complexion changed. In the 18th over, he smashed T Natarajan for 26 runs. However, it was his run-out of the last ball of the over that gifted Sunrisers Hyderabad the match.
With Tim David departing after an 18-ball 46-run knock, Bhuvneshwar Kumar dealt the final blow, dismissing Sanjay Yadav in the 19th over and bowling pitch-perfect yorkers to Jasprit Bumrah. His wicket-maiden over left MI with 19 runs to get in the final over.
That’s that from Match 65#MumbaiIndians fought hard, but fell short in the end as @SunRisers win by 3 runs.

Garg smashed 26-ball 42 as he added 78 runs for the 2nd wicket with Tripathi. While Garg fell to Ramandeep in the 10th over, Tripathi kept going at a brisk pace.
Tripathi smashed his third half-century of IPL 2022 and stitched together another 76-run stand with Nicholas Pooran to keep SRH on course to cross 200-run mark for the first time this season. However, Hyderabad lost three quick wickets at the death and failed to cross the 200-run mark.
Kane Williamson and Washington Sundar could not accelerate at the death overs with the wicket slowing down and SRH ended up with 193/6.

What does the win mean for SRH?
Sunrisers Hyderabad (8th, 12 Points): Sunrisers Hyderabad are still alive mathematically after the 3-run win. With 12 points from 13 matches, SRH remained on 8th spot. However, even if they score 14 points by winning against PBKS in the last match, they will not be guaranteed a playoff spot.
- SRH will need to win their last match against PBKS.
- SRH will also have to hope that RCB lose to GT in the last match and DC lose to MI.
- That combination of results will put RCB, DC and SRH on 14 points each.
- However, SRH will have to win by a big margin to up their Net Run Rate.
- For SRH to qualify, DC will have to lose by 9 wickets with 10 overs to spare or by over 100 runs.
- Similarly, SRH will have to win by over 100 runs to amend the negative NRR.
- SRH’s remaining matches: PBKS
