MI vs KKR Head-To-Head: The past record in numbers
The five time-champions Mumbai Indians have faced two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders on 31 ocassions in IPL. Mumbai dominate the records winning 22 of 31 matches. KKR have an ordinary record against MI winning just nine matches against them.
IPL 2008 saw the first match between MI and KKR, in which Mumbai defeated Kolkata by seven wickets in the low scoring thriller. Sanath Jayasuriya dismissed three of the KKR batters for 14 runs and became the player of the match.
The last match between MI and KKR was played during IPL 2022. MI Pacer Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets in that game for just 10 runs. However his efforts went in vain as his team ended on the loosing side. KKR emerged as winners this time defeating MI by 52 runs.
Kolkata could not get an edge over Mumbai through the years in IPL. Hopefully they will turn the tables this time.
