Though Rashid Khan’s heroics went in vain, his tremendous knock under pressure was helpful in not giving Mumbai Indians a great advantage in the Net Run Rate. Coming to bat when GT were 100-7, Rashid Khan took the responsibility on his shoulders to help his side reach 191-8 after 20 overs he help MI win by just 27 runs.

In the first innings of the game, it was the Afghan spinner who destroyed the Mumbai Indians top order. He scalped Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in quick succession to deal a heavy blow to the hosts. He then cameback to scalp Nehal Wadera and Tim David to scalp a four-fer and go on to lead the charts in the race for the Purple Cap.

On the other hand, Rashid Khan came to bat when GT were in dire straits. He went on to first slam a 21-ball fifty and then at the end of the innings his remained unbeaten on 79 from just 32 balls. Batting with a strike rate of 248, he went on to slam 3 fours and 10 huge sixes across all parts of the ground.

Knowing he was fighting a lost war, he didn’t lose hope but went on to carry out his assault with utmost precision as Gujarat Titans still continue to top the points table with 16 points from 12 games.
