IPL 2025: The next edition of the Indian Premier League is set to start in March this year. As excitement builds up for the 2025 season of IPL, the mega auction saw many records get broken as franchises went guns-blazing on Indian stars. Here are the most expensive players in each franchise, along with the amounts they earned.

Most expensive player from each IPL team

Virat Kohli (RCB)

For IPL 2025, RCB paid a hefty sum of Rs 21 crore to retain Virat Kohli services. In IPL history, Virat Kohli has been an integral part of the Red Army since its inception. In IPL 2025, RCB will be looking to lift their maiden IPL trophy, with Kohli might be back as the captain for the Bengaluru franchise.

Venkatesh Iyer (KKR)

In the auction for IPL 2025, KKR shocked everyone when they secured the service of Venkatesh Iyer for Rs. 23.75 crore. The explosive all-rounder is sought to be an important player for Kolkata with his versatility in batting and bowling.

Shreyas Iyer (PBKS)

The former KKR skipper, Shreyas Iyer, will be a part of the Punjab Kings camp for IPL 2025. Punjab Kings went with their solid decision and bagged Shreyas Iyer for Rs. 26.75 crore. The batter will be looked upon to add stability to the team’s middle order and try to win the first IPL trophy for PBKS.

Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK)

Ruturaj Gaikwad is the trusted opener and the current captain of CSK as he is known for his consistent performances. He came out as the most expensive player for CSK, as the franchise spent Rs. 18 crore on him.

Jasprit Bumrah (MI)

Jasprit Bumrah retained his spot as the top pacer for the most-earning IPL team with a deal of Rs. 18 crore. As Bumrah makes his return from his back injury, he promises to give out a game-changing experience for Mumbai.

Heinrich Klaasen (SRH)

Despite having the likes of Pat Cummins, Travis Head, and South Africa’s batter, Heinrich Klaasen is the most expensive player for SRH in IPL 2025. Klaasen also broke the record of Virat Kohli for becoming the player with the highest retained price. SRH paid Rs 23 crore to retain Klaasen for IPL 2025.

Shubman Gill (GT)

Shubman Gill, India’s stylish opener, got retained by the Gujarat Titans for Rs. 16.50 crore. Gill’s run-scoring ability has secured his position as one of the brightest stars of the league.

Sanju Samson (RR)

Like the previous few editions of the IPL, Sanju Samson continues to lead the Rajasthan Royals, as the team secured his leadership for Rs. 18 crore. The wicketkeeper-batter remains a key player for the franchise.

Rishabh Pant (LSG)

Apart from being the most expensive player for the LSG, Rishabh Pant also holds the record for being the most expensive player in IPL history. He was purchased at a cost of Rs. 27 crore. The wicketkeeper-batter shows aggression and leadership qualities to the LSG squad.

Axar Patel (DC)

For IPL 2025, DC retained Axar Patel as their first-choice pick, securing him for Rs 16.50 crore.  In IPL, Axar Patel has proven his worth with both and the ball. The all-rounder will look to help Delhi win their first IPL title.
