Following Kieron Pollard’s retirement and Daniel Sams’ release, Mumbai needs to buy a reliable overseas all-rounder. Another area where MI will need to invest would be the Indian pace bowling contingent. The franchise also let go of Jaydev Unadkat and spinners Murugan Ashwin and Mayank Markande. The auction will be an opportunity for former champions to find a reliable Indian bowler.

Players Mumbai Indians should try and sign during IPL 2023 auction
Adam Zampa
Mumbai missed a quality spinner last season with Murugan Ashwin failing to pick up enough wickets. However, the IPL 2023 will be an opportunity for the Mumbai franchise to go for Adam Zampa. The Australian leg spinner can be effective with the ball and can also get important wickets when the team needs a breakthrough.
Sam Curran
With Pollard and Daniel Sams gone, Mumbai will try to sign Sam Curran for the all-rounder’s slot. He missed last season due to an injury. However, he has been in great form this season helping England win the T20 World Cup. In the last three years, Curran has played 35 international T20 matches claiming 41 wickets in total at an economy of 7.71. In IPL Curran has taken 32 wickets between the 2019 and 2021 editions at an average of 31.09. He will certainly come in handy with bat and ball.
