Mere se na ho paayega: MS Dhoni reveals the one thing he cannot do

Check MS Dhoni’s response to the possibility of opening a YouTube channel like AB de Villiers and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Former India captain MS Dhoni is not a frequent user of social media, occasionally engaging in networking sites. In contrast to retired cricketers like Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shoaib Akhtar, and AB de Villiers, who share their reviews and experiences on YouTube channels, Dhoni does not have one and has declined to create one. His rationale is based on his limited involvement in social media activities.

“Just now I was about talking about this, someone even asked me the same. Mere se na ho payega (I cannot do this) because it’s very tough. I am somebody, I won’t say camera conscious but I can’t just get it done. It doesn’t come naturally to me,” MS Dhoni said.

“I am happy with one-on-one conversation. I am more of an in-person kind of a man. So, I don’t think I’ll be able to run a YouTube channel. Plus, I am a bit moody. I might post 2-3 videos and, like my Instagram account, disappear after one year,” he added.

MS Dhoni maintains low social media presence

Dhoni’s hesitancy to immerse himself in the realm of constant digital interaction distinguishes him from the growing trend of cricketers opening YouTube channels to provide insights into the game. His inclination toward personal, one-on-one conversations reflects his character, defining him as an individual who prioritizes authentic connections over digital visibility.

In contrast to numerous cricketers who inundate their social media accounts with regular updates, Dhoni adopts a more reserved approach. His sporadic posts on Instagram and Twitter carry significant weight, becoming noteworthy occasions that ripple across the digital landscape.

The scarcity of his social media activity turns each post into news, capturing the attention of his devoted followers.

In the context of his IPL journey, Chennai Super Kings, captained by MS Dhoni, have retained 19 players and let go of eight after securing their fifth IPL trophy in the previous season.

As they gear up for the IPL 2024 auction, the Chennai-based franchise possesses a budget of ₹31.4 crore to complete their squad. The team aims to strengthen their bowling unit, which has faced a shortage of experience in recent years.
