Rishabh Pant has credited former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri for creating a mentality of winning outside India. It has been one year since team India defeated Australia who were unbeaten at The Gabba for 32 years. Speaking on the anniversary, Rishabh Pant also said that he was not celebrating as much but Rohit Sharma made him realize that he has achieved something big.
“After the Gabba Test, I was not celebrating like others then Rohit bhai came & told ‘you don’t know what you have done, once you leave cricket then you will realize the importance of this innings’ – then I realized that I have done something great,” Rishabh Pant said in a conversation with Star Sports.
“When I came into the Test team in 2018, the thought process under Kohli Bhai & Ravi Bhai was to win in overseas – We want to be the best in the world,” he added.
