The men’s India cricket team hasn’t started 2025 on the most positive note. Apart from their best player, Jasprit Bumrah, getting injured, Team India also lost their first match of the year to the Australia men’s cricket team and subsequently faced defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
The only good thing, fans would have some time to recoup and then see Team India return to their best format, T20Is. As the reigning T20 World Cup champions, the Men in Blue are expected to beat England, against whom they’ll play a 5-match T20I series starting January 22.

2024 was a blockbuster year for the India men’s cricket team. Among nations that played the most over 10 Test matches, Team India had the best winning percentage, with away match victories against South Africa and Australia. India’s 2024 was one of the greatest T20I years any team has ever had; they lost just two of the 26 matches they played and lifted the T20 World Cup. With just 3 ODIs played, Team India couldn’t get a victory in the format but will play loads more in 2025.
