Rishabh Pant once again “most expensive”, sold for 33 Cr to PBKS at IPL Mock Auction

IPL Auction: Many experts have already predicted that former DC skipper Rishabh Pant will be IPL's most-expensive player ever.

Just about every IPL mock auction has suggested that Rishabh Pant will be the most expensive player at the IPL Auction 2025. First, it was the KKR mock auction where the Indian keeper-batter was bagged for a massive 18.75 Cr, and then at R Ashwin’s IPL mock auction, he went to PBKS for 20.5 Cr.

Rishabh Pant Most Expensive Once Again, Goes to PBKS

Now, at JioCinema’s “Mega Auction War Room”, Rishabh Pant broke all records and went to PBKS for massive 33 Cr. Raising the paddle for “Team Punjab”, Eoin Morgan did not hold back and kept on raising his bid for the uber-talented Pant. Of course, the purse left for each team was the same, as what’s left with the actual teams. In short, that means, PBKS spent 33 Cr from 110.5 Cr for Pant.

It must be reminded to all, that Pant is one of the most sought-after IPL player, and who will be on every team’s radar. At the IPL Retentions on October 31, he wasn’t retained by DC. Despite his excellent returns for the team, he was thrown into the IPL Auction. Now, PBKS will be the frontrunners to bag him, followed by teams like CSK and even KKR.

Mock Auction War Room Before IPL Auction

Coming back to the “Mega Auction War Room”, PBKS didn’t stop at Rishabh Pant only and went on to bag the likes of Jos Buttler, and used an RTM for pacer Arshdeep Singh.

Speaking about Rishabh Pant’s IPL record, it is second to none. In 111 matches, he has scored 3284 runs at an average of 35.31 and a strike rate of 148.93. Apart from that, just last year, when he was coming back from a life-threatening accident, in 13 matches scored 446 runs at an average of 40.
