In a video released by IPL, the duo engaged in a chat ranging from the happenings of the match to the impact of the home crowd.

Chennai Super Kings stars Rachin Ravindra and Shivam Dube both played their part to hand CSK their first win in IPL 2024 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday. After the match, the duo caught up with each other for a chat where both showed mutual admiration for each other.

Chasing a target of 174, CSK won the match with 8 balls to spare. Rachin Ravindra provided an electric start to his team on his IPL debut, scoring 37 of 15 balls while opening the innings. Shivam Dube on the other hand came into the team as an impact player and finished things off with a 28-ball 34.

In a video released by IPL, the duo chatted about the happenings of the match, the impact of home crowd and Shivam Dube’s inspiration behind finishing games off.

It was just nice to have the partnership with Rutu. Obviously he has done this for a long time for Chennai. He has a sort of calming presence. Being able to build the partnership with Jinx (Ajinkya Rahane) in front of the home crowd was pretty cool too,” Rachin Ravindra said.

Dube on his part said that finishing the game was an incredible feeling and that he had learned it from MS Dhoni.

It was amazing. Me and Jadeja are still not out from 2023 (final). Finishing the game for Chennai is always something else for me. That’s what I have learned from Mahi bhai and that’s what I’m trying to do in every game. That feels very good when you finish the game like this and especially, on the first game of the IPL. So it feels very good,” said Dube.

On being asked if it was a conscious effort by him to remain unbeaten, Dube said, “There was only thing in my mind. Watch the ball and play. Because I know what I can do when I am there till the end.
