Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been dealt massive blows. Even before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season starts, they have lost one pacer to injury, Mohsin Khan. And three others, Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan and Akash Deep, are set to miss matches as well.
LSG’s injury woes continue
According to Indian Express, Mayank, who has been at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (also known as the National Cricket Academy) in Bengaluru since the middle of October last year, will miss the first half of the IPL 2025 season.
This information isn’t new. It was speculated two weeks back as well. However, now we have a date for when the speedster will recover from his lower back injury. Mayank is expected to be fit by April 15. This means he’ll miss the first seven matches.
As for Akash and Avesh, they are also at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) dealing with their respective injuries as well. They are set to miss the first three matches for LSG and could play against the Mumbai Indians on April 4.
LSG mentor Zaheer Khan knew that they depended on NCA’s (CoE) mercy. “We can’t really say much as our players are currently with the NCA. We are working alongside them to see how things move forward. The situation is dynamic, and when you’re talking about the IPL, you have to be ready for uncertainties to occur,” he’d said a couple of days ago.
