Mayank shuns T20 World Cup talks, says wants to focus on IPL 2024 only

All said and done, pace sensation, LSG’s Mayank Yadav has established himself as a contender for the T20 World Cup 2024, with his impressive performances. But as per a report in India Today, the youngster has clarified that he isn’t thinking too far ahead, and IPL is his only goal for now.

“I don’t have comments about that (people saying about T20 World Cup chances). But, my performances have been good. So I am very happy. I want to focus on the present and keep thinking about this IPL season,” Mayank said, speaking to India Today on Friday.

Mayank Yadav Not Focused on Speed

One of his USP’s has been bowling quick, and in excess of 155 kmph. But he is a lot more than speed only. He is has been consistent with his line and length as well, that has brought him wickets. “At that time, I don’t have this adrenaline rush. I don’t think about bowling faster.

“I don’t bowl to check the pace in the speedometer. My focus is bowling good lines and lengths and making it difficult for the batters. And I want to make sure that I execute the plans that we sit and make as a team before the team,” he added.

“It is a natural ability. From a very young age, I have been able to bowl pace. I have been able to groom that skill. I have been fortunate to have good people around me, telling what I need to improve and where I lack at various stages of my journey. I have listened to them and been able to improve my game,” he said.
