Karnataka skipper Mayank Agarwal suffered a major health scare. The 32-year-old star batter has been admitted into ICU in Agartala. Agarwal suffered the health scare while on a flight from Agartala to Surat. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and reports claim that he is currently out of danger.
Reports From Times Now state that the player complained of a burning sensation in his mouth and throat after drinking from a bottle. He vomited and felt uneasy. It was suspected that he consumed something poisonous.
Mayank Agarwal played a key role in his side’s 29 run win against Tripura in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy clash. Up next, Karnataka is slated to play against Railways in Surat. The team was traveling to Surat when the incident happened.
“Out of favour India opener and Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal rushed to Agartala hospital after falling sick in a New Delhi bound flight. The details and nature of his health issue hasn’t been confirmed,” PTI quoted Karnataka State Cricket Association sources.
Despite being out of favour in the Indian Cricket Team, Mayank Agarwal has been performing well in the domestic circuit. He is currently playing well and leading his side in the ongoing Ranji Trophy clash.
Furthermore, Mayank is keen to prove his worth in the shortest format of the game. With the Indian Premier League barely a month away, Agarwal is desperate to perform for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 in vying for another chance in Team India.
