‘Maxwell to fraudwell’: Fans hilariously troll Glenn Maxwell after his another duck vs MI

Glenn Maxwell was trapped in front of the stumps by Shreyas Gopal, who has now dismissed the Australian batter two out of two times.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s star batter Glenn Maxwell is having a season to forget in IPL 2024. His campaign reached a new low after his recent four-ball duck against the Mumbai Indians (MI).

This dismissal not only extended his poor run of form but also saw him tie with Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik for the unwanted record of most ducks in IPL history, with all three players now at 17.

Maxwell has managed only 32 runs in 6 IPL 2024 innings

Maxwell’s overall performance in IPL 2024 has been abysmal. In six innings, he has only managed a paltry 32 runs at an average of 5.33 and at a strike rate of 94.12. This shocking lack of form has coincided with RCB’s own stuttering start to the tournament, leaving their fans frustrated.

Social media, unsurprisingly, hasn’t been kind to Maxwell. Fans and critics alike have taken to trolling the usually flamboyant batsman, questioning when will he justify his hefty price tag of INR 11 crore. Below are some hilarious reactions from fans on Maxwell’s forgettable return against MI.

Coming out to bat after Rajat Patidar’s superb fifty, Maxwell had a golden opportunity to revive his IPL 2024 campaign. He would’ve liked the Wankhede Stadium surface, where he also smashed his improbable double century in the ODI World Cup 2023. However, the mighty Australian was trapped in front of the stumps against a googly by Shreyas Gopal.
