The men’s Indian Cricket Team is all set to kick-start their Asian Games campaign. The Men in Blue will take on Nepal in their first match of the competition which will be the quarterfinals. Ahead of the game, the head coach of the squad VVS Laxman pointed out that it is a matter of great pride for the players to participate in the Asian Games.
VVS Laxman’s message is clear that the Indian Cricket Team headed by Ruturaj Gaikwad will be eyeing for the goal. The Men’s team will be keen to replicate what the Indian Women’s team achieved a few days back.
“It is very different. Never ever thought that we would come to China to play cricket. It is a great opportunity for the entire team because participating in the Asian Games is a big opportunity and a matter of great pride for all these players. So we are really looking forward to this tournament,” said Indian Cricket Team head coach VVS Laxman.

The Men In Blue are playing the quarterfinals directly due to them being a top-ranked T20I side. Nepal defeated Maldives by 138 runs in their Group A match to qualify for the quarterfinals.
The Indian men’s side, making their Asian Games debut will be looking forward to repeating the heroics of the women’s side, who won a gold by defeating Sri Lanka in the final by 19 runs while defending a small total of 117 runs. It was also the debut of women’s team in the continental event.
