After Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, another Indian team member has made a return! Yes, India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, is back with the Indian cricket team after a short break. He left Australia on November 26th due to personal family reasons but has now joined the team in Adelaide today (December 3rd) ahead of the second BGT Test.

Revsportz uploaded a video where Gambhir was seen entering the Indian team’s hotel. This is a massive boost for India, who aim to replicate their Perth heroics in the upcoming day-night Test. While Gambhir was away, the team didn’t miss a beat. The support staff, including Abhishek Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate, and Morne Morkel oversaw the coaching duties. Returning Rohit Sharma led the team to a win in a practice match against the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra by 6 wickets. That two-day affair was shortened into a 46-over per-side game due to persistent rain.

Now, Gambhir faces some important decisions. With Rohit Sharma returning to the team, he needs to figure out the best playing lineup. Questions remain about at what positions players like KL Rahul and Shubman Gill will fit in the team. Young players like Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel, who didn’t perform well in the last test, are also waiting to see if they’ll get a chance.
The next test match will be the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide on December 6th. The Men in Blue look ready and excited to continue their strong performance in the series. With Gambhir back, India hopes to maintain their momentum and challenge Australia.
