Jasprit Bumrah may not have been a part of the India vs England 4th Test, but the No. 1 Test bowler has been pivotal in Rohit Sharma and Co. sealing the series 3-1 in Ranchi. After going down 0-1, it was Bumrah who resurrected the home favorites with a stunning 9-wicket haul in Vizag.
After Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel helped India cross the finish line, the leader of the Indian bowling line-up congratulated his teammates. “Super display and a massive win! Congratulations to the entire team and staff,” the Indian vice-captain wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Will Jasprit Bumrah return in Dharamsala?
Now that Rohit Sharma has maintained India’s series win streak at home, the question is whether Bumrah will return to play the final Test of the series. Many experts and fans had questioned the pacer’s exclusion from the fourth Test in Ranchi. However, despite not having the No. 1 Test bowler, the Indian skipper managed to win the series.
Now, the possibility of Bumrah returning is negligible. With nothing on the line and a two-month-long IPL 2024 season and the T20 World Cup 2024 to follow, there is no point in playing the world’s best pacer.
Instead, what Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma can do is give Akash Deep a chance to showcase his skill in Dharamsala and see how Mohammed Siraj performs as the leader of the pace bowling unit.
