Delhi Capitals have been handed a huge blow. Skipper Rishabh Pant has been suspended for a single game. Apart from the suspension, he has also been fined 30 Lakh rupees for bowling slow over rate in the previous game against Rajasthan Royals. This means Rishabh Pant won’t be available for the next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Huge Blow for Delhi Capitals
This is a massive setback for the Delhi Capitals. Finally getting back into the groove, DC has been handed fresh problems. The Capitals went on to beat Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs to keep themselves alive in the race for the top 4.
The league has progressed to such an extent that now every match is a virtual eliminator. Should DC lose their next game, there is a big chance that they might not make it to the next stage.
And as fate would have it, skipper Rishabh Pant has been suspended for the next clash against an in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Delhi Capitals appealed the decision but it was rejected. As a result, Pant has now been handed a one match suspension along with a fine of 30 lakh rupees. His offence – maintaining slow over rate while bowling in the last game against Rajasthan Royals.
