Jason Roy and Reece Topley are set to give up their ECB central contract and pursue his future in franchise cricket. The England opener is offered a £300,000 deal (Rs 3 crore) with Major League Cricket outfit LA Knight Riders. Incidentally, LA Knight Riders are owned by the owners of Kolkata Knight Riders, whom Roy represented in IPL 2023. However, the deal is unlikely to end his World Cup 2023 hopes, with the England superstar explaining the same. Follow all cricket news and updates live on Insidesport.IN

The Major League Cricket will be held between July 13-30 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. The six-team tournament features four franchises backed by IPL teams, while Australian state sides New South Wales and Victoria also have vested interests. England’s white-ball players are considering signing for the tournament, cancelling their existing deals with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Roy’s Rs 3 crore deal with La Knight Riders is worth well more than the ECB incremental deal. The England opener’s current deal is worth Rs 67.5 Lakh per year, the same deal Reece Topley is also on. However, the fast bowler’s decision rests on his rehabilitation and return to full fitness.

England has six players on incremental deals: Harry Brook, Dawid Malan, Matthew Potts, Roy, Topley and David Willey. As per multiple reports in England, Roy is expected to join up with LA Knight Riders and feature in the MLC. He will then return for The Hundred, where he plays for the Oval Invincibles. As for Topley, the England fast bowler has not signed a deal to play in MLC.
