Marnus Labuschagne unintentionally mocked the England cricket team ahead of their first Ashes 2023 clash on June 16 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. This funny incident happened when Labuschagne was hit in his abdominal region during the 3rd inning of the World Test Championship Final against India at the Oval. Due to being hit, the world’s No. 1 batter had to change his abdomen guard.
However, fans were left in splits when they saw that Marnus’ abdomen guard had pictures of the last Ashes series that was played down under, in which Australia rag-dolled the English side, winning four of the five games with one match ending in a draw. Along with multiple images of Australian players, the guard had ‘Ashes 2021/22’ and ‘4-0’ written on it.
This funny abdominal guard can be seen as a reply to English bowler Stuart Broad, who had earlier claimed that the last Ashes series was void due to it being played during COVID-19 under several restrictions, which hindered the English players from playing properly on their tour.

Australia ended Day 3 with a 296-run lead and have made 123 runs for the loss of four wickets in their second innings so far.
Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur led India’s charge on Day 3. Rahane’s stay in the middle was cut short due to a miraculous catch by Cameron Green, while Shardul Thakur continued and made his third consecutive fifty at The Oval to help the team avoid a follow-on.
Australia had a difficult start, losing their openers within 15 overs. However, Labuschagne and Smith soon steadied the ship. Australia ended the day’s play with Marnus unbeaten on 41 and Green supporting the world’s No. 1 batter from the other end.
