R Ashwin has been praising Tamil Nadu’s talent Sai Sudharsan for way long. And, his words are proofing to be true as the young opener clinched fifty in his debut ODI match against South Africa in the 1st ODI match in Johannesburg.
Ashwin lauded his fellow state cricketer for his brilliant display of talent in his maiden ODI match. Sudharsan scored unbeaten 55 of 43 balls chasing a low target of 117.
India defeated South Africa in a one-sided match by eight wickets. Arshdeep Singh (5/37)and Avesh Khan (4/27) were the others who shined in the match.
Ashwin has seen Sudharsan’s journey closing from Ranji to TNPL and from there to playing for India. Sudharsan had an outstanding IPL 2023 season where he scored 362 runs at an average of 51.71.
India register biggest win over SA
Team India registered their biggest win against the Proteas with respect to the ball remaining. The Indian bowlers bundled out SA at 116 and later batters completed the assignment by chasing the low total in just 16.4 overs with 200 balls remaining.
