Having faced yet another failure in the IND vs SA 1st Test, Shubman Gill has revealed that he and Team India are ready to take on South Africa in Cape Town. The opener turned no. 3 batter has been unsuccessful in Test cricket so far, averaging just 31 after 19 Tests.
Ahead of the IND vs SA 2nd Test, Shubman Gill revealed he and the India cricket team are ready to make a statement.
“We’ve got quite a few days to prepare for this one. This is a new year, new day for us, and we are going to come back and make a statement in this Test match. It’s very important to be there mentally; you have to let your focus and determination and let your grit take over,” the opener said.
When asked about how he’s feeling on his first tour to South Africa and how his batting is holding up, Shubman Gill said:
“It’s not so much about the technique; it’s more so about the grit and determination. This is a great opportunity for us to level the series, and all of us are very well prepared and very well equipped to be able to win this Test match.”
