Sri Lankan off spinner Maheesh Theekshana opened up about his signature arrow celebration. Theekshana has been making headlines in the ongoing ILT20. He has taken 11 wickets including two four-fers playing for Sharjah Warriors.
Theekshana is also part of IPL team Chennai Super Kings, and will play under the tutelage of Mahendra Singh Dhoni as CSK look to lift another IPL title.
In a recent interview, Theekshana was asked about his signature arrow celebration. He was asked if the celebration was inspired by the army. However, Theekshana revealed that his arrow celebration came from the DC television series which he watched in popular streaming platform Netflix. Theekshana said it was his way of emulating what he watched on the series. He also said the series is a source of inspiration for him.
“No, because I just love Arrow. I used to watch the show Arrow on Netflix, and that really inspired me. I just tried to emulate what he did on the show with my celebration,” Theekshana said in an interview to Cricket.com website.
Theekshana is expected to play a big part when Sri Lanka begin their three-match ODI series against Rashid Khan-less Afghanistan starting on February 09. It is expected that the world will get to see Theekshana’s arrow celebration when he takes wickets in the ODI series.
