Maharaja Trophy T20 Auction: The much-anticipated auction for the second edition of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 was successfully organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association. The first-ever auction for the teams took place at the prestigious M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on July 22. Abhinav Manohar became the costliest buy among 700 players who went under the hammer at the auction.
The tournament is scheduled to be held at a single venue in Bengaluru, from August 14 to August 30. Abhinav Manohar, who plays for Gujarat Titans in the IPL attracted a bid of 15 lakhs from Shivamogga Lions. Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, Manish Pandey, Vidwath Kaverappa, and Vyshak Vijaykumar were also top attractions in the auction.
The six participating teams – Gulbarga Mystics, Mangaluru Dragons, Mysore Warriors, Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli Tigers, and Shivamogga Lions engaged in a fierce bidding war to secure players in four different categories, namely Category A (Rs 2 Lakh Base Price), B, C, and D. Each team began the auction with a purse of Rs 50 Lakh and assembled squads comprising a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 18 players.
