The USA team were a happy bunch on Friday after rain washed away their last group stage match against Ireland in the T20 World Cup. Courtesy of the one point, USA qualified to the Super Eight stage of the tournament for the first time in their history. In a behind-the-scenes video, the USA team were captured having fun and talking about their feelings after qualifying.
USA in jovial mood
Ali Khan had the mic with himself as he went around the dressing room to capture the emotions of his teammates. He also pulled the much-talked about joke with Aaron Jones when he asked the top order batter, “First World Cup, you perform, what happening?”
However, amidst all the fun, all-rounder Shadley van Schalkwyk showed off his lucky United States socks which he has been wearing since the start of the tournament. According to Schalkwyk, the socks definitely had a role to play in USA’s stellar performance.
Monank Patel over the moon
USA captain Monank Patel was as excited as his teammates, with the opening batter claiming, “We outside tonight.”
Ali Khan was also challenged for a game of FIFA by Monank Patel on camera, leading to a bit of banter.
