LSG’s Pant joins Pandya & Parag, Digvesh Rathi fined 50% of match fee for fiery send off

LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi has been fined 50% of his match fee for his fiery notebook celebration after dismissing Naman Dhir

Digvesh Singh Rathi might have been Player of the Match for his spell against MI but that doesn’t save him from facing consequences for his fiery send off. After being fined in the previous game for his actions, the LSG spinner has once again been penalized for breaching the Code of Conduct. LSG managed to get a 12-run win to secure their first victory at home in IPL 2025.

Repeat offender Digvesh Rathi fined

Rathi has been fined 50% of his match fees for his second Level 1 offence. Earlier. he was fined 25% of his match fee for committing the same offence. In the game against MI, Digvesh once again brought out the notebook celebration after getting rid of Naman Dhir. He finished the match with outstanding figures of 1/21 from his four overs.

This was his second Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 this season and hence, he has accumulated Two Demerit Points, in addition to One Demerit Point which he accumulated during LSG’s match against Punjab Kings on April 01, 2025,” a press release read.

Pant fined for slow-over rate

Meanwhile, LSG captain Rishabh Pant has been fined Rs 12 lakhs for maintaining slow-over rate against MI. The southpaw joins stand-in RR captain Riyan Parag and MI’s Hardik Pandya to become the third skipper to be fined in this season.

As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Rishabh Pant was fined INR 12 Lakh,” the press release stated.
