Mayank boost for LSG in mid-April?
As per MyKhel, sources close to the cricketer revealed that Mayank had resumed bowling at the NCA. The sources claimed that Yadav was on course to joining LSG In “a few weeks time”. While he was at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) working on his recovery from a back injury, the report claims that he had a toe injury as well, which had delayed his comeback.
“Mayank has already started to bowl and looking good to play in the IPL in a few weeks time,” a source told the publication.
Mayank & injuries – a love story
In his very first IPL game, he was forced to walk off midway through the game due to an abdominal injury. He returned in the next game, only to walk off once again after bowling 3.1 overs. Yadav was then sidelined for the remainder of the tournament due to a side strain.
After spending months at the NCA in Bengaluru, he made his T20I debut in IND vs BAN series, picking up two wickets. Subsequently, he sustained a back injury that saw him being ruled out of IND vs SA T20Is. Subsequently, he did not play in the IND vs ENG T20I series either and is now likely to miss three weeks of IPL 2025.
Mayank was retained by LSG for Rs 11 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
