Kuldeep Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief for Delhi Capitals (DC) as they clinched a convincing six-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match.
Kuldeep’s superlative spell saw him scalp three crucial wickets of Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, and KL Rahul, conceding only 20 runs in his quota of overs. His exceptional performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
1 DRS is reserved for Kuldeep Yadav
Adding a touch of humor to the post-match presentation ceremony, the wrist spinner made a hilarious remark about the team’s Decision Review System (DRS) calls.
He jokingly stated that out of the two DRS reviews DC have, one is automatically reserved for him. “DRS is something as a bowler you want to take. When you have two DRS, one is obviously for me,” he said with a chuckle, highlighting the bowler’s confidence in his appeals.
His super bowling display played a pivotal role in restricting LSG to a modest total of 167/7. DC chased down the target comfortably with six wickets in hand, clinching a much-needed win to revive their IPL campaign. In doing so, DC have also become the first IPL team to hunt down a 160-plus run target against LSG.
