Lucknow Super Giants are slated to face Chennai Super Kings in an entertaining clash. Both teams will be eager to grab 2 points to go up the points table. Heading into the game, both sides will be looking to make a couple of changes in the playing XI. LSG might opt for Kyle Mayers while Moeen Ali is likely to return to the CSK Playing XI. But the pertinent question remains, is Mayank Yadav fit?
More Fire Power for Lucknow Super Giant
KL Rahul and co stand 6th in the IPL 2024 Points Table with 3 wins from 7 games. After encountering back to back loses against DC and KKR, Lucknow Super Giants will be desperate to win. On both the previous game, the batting unit has been a major concern for the Lucknow outfits.
The most likely change would be in the incorporation of Kyle Mayers in place of Quinton de Kock. The Proteas opener hasn’t been firing on all cylinders off late. While Marcus Stoinis too has been poor, he provides the option of being an all-rounder unlike the Protean keeper.
LSG Playing XI: Quinton de Kock/Kyle Mayers, KL Rahul (c/wk), Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Shamar Joseph, Yash Thakur/Mayank Yadav.
But the question still remains – is Mayank Yadav fit? As per LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener, “I am not sure regarding his participation in tomorrow’s match against Chennai. He has been bowling in the nets but his fitness is our priority. But can’t say anything regarding his participation.”
Solitary change for Chennai Super Kings
A win for Chennai Super Kings will take them to the second spot in the points table. With the pitch at the Ekana Stadium favouring spin, CSK might be forced to make a change. Moeen Ali is likely to replace Daryl Mitchell for Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co.
CSK Playing XI: Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali/Daryl Mitchell, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Sameer Rizvi , MS Dhoni (wk), Shardul Thakur, Tushar Deshpande, Mustafizur Rahman.
