LSG Player Rating vs DC: Stupid, Stupid Stupid performance by Rishabh Pant sinks Lucknow

IPL 2025: ON the night of the DC vs LSG match, Rishabh Pant not only failed to contribute with the bat, but made some questionable decisions on field.

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. Sunil Gavaskar’s infamous rant against Rishabh Pant must be reverberating in the ears of every LSG fan. From a winning position, they just handed over the win to DC, on a platter. Despite ruling 75% of the match, lack of thinking on part of the skipper, and some brilliant hitting by Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigar, DC sailed home with a wicket to spare.

Are the players to fault? Yes, they are. But the team is only as good as the captain, and the unit failed collectively. The batting was brilliant, but then they lost a wicket too many, that meant they were 20 runs short of their eventual score of 209. Then despite reducing DC to 65/5, they still let them cross the line. So, overall a poor performance by LSG.

But as is the norm after every IPL 2025 match, InsideSport takes a look at the player ratings, this time for LSG.

LSG Player Ratings for DC Match

Rishabh Pant (1/10): He scored 0 from 6 deliveries in the first innings and then made some questionable decisions on the field while leading LSG. In the second last over, he had a chance to finish off things, and stump Mohit Sharma, but missed that too. All in all, a forgettable day for him.

Aiden Markram (2/10): Nothing much to speak about his performance. He started off well, but got out for 15 from 13. Should have contributed more with the bat.

Mitchell Marsh (8/10): Was just explosive at the top of the order for LSG, where he scored 72 from 36 deliveries. If he had kept going for a little more, LSG would have even crossed 250, possibly.

Nicholas Pooran (9/10): A fine innings by a fine player. Pooran showed by he was retained by the franchise for a bomb. He smashed 75 from just 30, scaring all the DC bowlers, one by one. Unfortunately, he was bowled by a Starc ripper.

David Miller (6/10): The South African was slow off the blocks, but with a couple of decent hits, Miller ensured that his team crossed 200. He just got no support at the other end.

Ayush Badoni (2/10): He was supposedly the in-form batter for the team, who was coming into the IPL on the back of a good domestic season. But Badoni could manage to score only 4 from 5.

Shardul Thakur (7/10): One wonders why was Shardul given only two overs, when he bagged two wickets in the first over of the chase? Nonetheless, he ended with 2/19 in two overs.

Shahbaz Ahmed (2/10): Scored 9 from 8 and then in his 1.3 overs gave away 22 runs. He is a much better bowler than what he displayed in the match vs DC.

Ravi Bishnoi (1.5/10): He leaked 53 runs in his spell of four overs. Even though Bishnoi bagged two wickets, but that became inconsequential as soon as his side lost the match.

M Siddharth (5/10): 2/39 in his quota of overs is not a bad performance, but then in the end it wasn’t enough.

Digvesh Rathi (7/10): This little-known bowler from Delhi bowled his heart out, and returned with figures of 2/31. Despite such a strong show, his team lost a bad match.
