Wood and his wife Sarah are expecting their child by the end of May. While no date has been confirmed, the English pacer is set to stay home and tend to his wife and kids. Wood however will join up with the England squad later this month, ahead of the England vs Ireland Test. The match kicks off at Lord’s on June 1.
An ECB official confirmed Mark Wood will not return to India to play in the Eliminator for the Lucknow Super Giants as per Cricbuzz. LSG, who have qualified for the final four stages will face either Mumbai, RCB or Rajasthan in the clash at Chepauk. The England pacer appeared in only four games for the Lucknow club before returning home for the birth of child in the last week of April.
Mark Wood was signed in the auction by the Lucknow Super Giants last year but missed the full season due to injury. He shook the Delhi Capitals with a 5/14 spell on his debut this year at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. In four outings with the Lucknow side, he has 11 wickets.
