Rishabh Pant created history on Sunday as he became the most expensive player ever when Sanjiv Goenka’s LSG raised the paddle for him at Rs 27 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. Even though he was bagged for Rs 20.75 crore initially by the team, he was RTMed by DC. Eventually, when the bid was raised to 27 crore, DC backed out.

Post that, the team went on to bid for David Miller and bagged him for Rs 7.5 crore, Their best pick perhaps was South Africa white-ball skipper Aiden Markram, who came their way for only Rs 2 crore, Aussie all-rounder Mitchell Marsh also came relatively cheap, for a price of Rs 3.4 crore.
