LPL 2023: Galle Titans took on Dambulla Aura in a group stage match of the Lanka Premier League on July 31 (Monday). Meanwhile, a giant snake made its presence felt at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo which resulted in delay of the match between Dambulla and Galle. However, the snake was removed by the ground staff before the play resumed after a short halt.

The incident happened during the second innings of the match
As mentioned above, during the second innings of the match, just before Shakib Al Hasan was about to start his over, a slithering snake was spotted near the boundary rope and play had to be halted. The game only resumed moments later, after the snake had been chased away, past the rope at the Premadasa stadium in Colombo.
Meanwhile, Galle Titans completed an excellent win over Dambulla as they were a better team in all three departments of the match. After being invited to bat first, Galle Titans lost Lasith Croospulle for a mere 3 runs off 5 balls, but Shevon Daniel and Bhanuka Rajapaksa adopted an aggressive approach and provided the Titans with a brisk start. By the end of the powerplay, they had managed to post a score of 55/1.
The middle overs were dominated by Dambulla. However, Dasun Shanaka paired up with Lahiru Samarakoon, and the skipper unleashed his inner fury on the bowlers at the cue end of the innings. Shanaka smashed 42 runs off just 21 balls and helped the Titans cross the 180-run mark.
