LPL 2021: Jaffna Kings vs Dambulla Giants Live:

Defending champions Jaffna Kings suffered 54 runs defeat against Galle Gladiators in the one-sided tournament opener on Sunday. It won’t be wrong to say that the Kings were outplayed by Samit Patel – who was the star for Gladiators & was adjudged man of the match for his all-round contribution of 42 off 31 & 3-21.

The Kings looked a bit rusty and will be surely looking to bounce back hard against Dambulla Giants. The likes of Upul Tharanga, Avishka Fernando, alongwith skipper Thisara Perera need to pull up their socks and lead from the front. A day’s break would also have given the defending champions ample time to reflect on their opening defeat in contrast to Giants who will be playing two games within 24 hours gap. The Kings also get a much-needed boost as Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has joined the squad.

Dambulla Giants will once again rely upon their opening pair of N Dickwella & Philips Salt who laid a solid foundation against Kandy Warriors in their opening fixture. The Giants have enough firepower in their batting lineup that features N Zadran, N Dickwella, Dasun Shanaka, and Sohaib Maqsood. Meanwhile, the experience of Imran Tahir and Nuwan Pradeep will come in handy for the Giants along with Ramesh Mendis – who was a star for Sri Lanka in the recently concluded Test series against West Indies.
