It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Team India is a crowd-puller, and a massive money generator for boards all across the world. No matter where the team plays, the fan-following is rather lucrative for the opposition teams. And milking this opportunity, the Lord’s cricket stadium has hiked the prices for the two Tests in the Summer of 2025.
India, most likely will first play the WTC final next year at Lord’s, followed by the IND vs ENG Test at the same venue in July. For the same. the stadium has announced an increase in the ticket prices, as per a report in Independent.
The report suggests, the first three days of the IND vs ENG Test, that starts on July 10, has a cheapest adult ticket of INR 10,000 or £90. The most expensive seats will be priced at £175 or INR 19,000, while the accessibility tickets will be offered at £120 or INR 13,400.
The prices for the day 4 start at £50 or INR 5,597 for a restricted view ticket. They mad go up to £150 or INR 16,791. On the other hand, the WTC final tickets will be priced at £70-130 for adults and £20-£50 for under-16s.
It is important to note that the MCC, which owns the Lord’s ground, came under severe criticism, during the ENG vs SL Test, where the prices of the tickets were too high, and only 9,000 fans attended the match on day 4. England stand-in captain Ollie Pope had said, “shame it wasn’t a full house”.
